iPhone 7: Release Date, Price & Features – All you Need to Know

Apple is all prepared for the release of the next generation of iPhone at San Francisco in its annual event this week. Each year the Silicon Valley giant reveal a range of products in autumn, which include new iPad, Macbook and Apple Watch models.

On Wednesday evening, the company is set to unveil the new and upgraded iPhone which is similar to iPhone 6s and 6s plus and could have multiple big differences including a better camera, power and battery life, no headphone jack, pressure sensitive home button, size of 32 GB and new range of colors.

Reports claim that upcoming iPhone can be called iPhone 7. However, as the latest handset is expected to feature small changes rather than radial redesigning, some analysts speculated that Apple could save the name iPhone 7 for next year’s 10 year anniversary release and call this iPhone 6se.

The suggestion is in line with the launch of the iPhone SE in March which was upgraded version of 5s design. Supply chain leaks and reports all point to the handset in fact being called iPhone 7.

Apple is rumored to be saving for the 2017 iPhone having it made entirely from glass and have an edge to edge display with an OLED screen which is a significant step forward from LCD screens the company currently uses.

Rumors are also there of Apple launching 2 5.5 screen inch versions in September, one with dual lens camera that will be called iPhone pro. However, there will be only one called 7 plus which is going to feature the dual camera design.

Eliminating The Headphone Jack- with a pair of lightning ear pods or wireless airpod headphones iPhone is getting rid of the headphone jack, featuring the Bluetooth or some other wireless standard. It is likely to be controversial, so it will give an adapter which will allow the typical wired headphones to be used.

Upgraded Camera-other than its larger appearance, other details are not available. It will have better low-light capabilities and take even sharper photos. Huge increase in quality with second zoomed in lens will able to focus on important parts of the picture.

Pressure-Sensitive Home Button- the iPhone maker can replace the home button with a pressure sensitive one which works like 6S and 6S plus 3D touch display.

Instead of the switch to be pressed physically, all new button could use haptic feedback which would allow Apple to make the phone bigger.

Bigger battery than the predecessors is a major upgrade to its specifications, giving the phone a big boost. The beta version is also there of iOS 10, the software the phone will ship with, that it could be more water resistant.

When It Will Be Released?

The annual product launch event will be on 7th September, 2016. In the past 2 years, Apple has released its new phone to the public a few weeks after unveiling them in second week of September.

How Much It Will Cost?

Cheapest model of the latest iPhone has cost $539. That price could rise this year in line with post Brexit currency fluctuations. Apple may ditch the cheaper 16 GB model for the iPhone 7. This would make the smallest iPhone 32 GB, a size which is not available for the Iphone 6S.
